Blessed are the poor in spirit,For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn,For they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,For they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,For they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful,For they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart,For they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,For they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake,For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Happy are those who know they are spiritually poor;
the Kingdom of heaven belongs to them!

Happy are those who mourn;
God will comfort them!

Happy are those who are humble;
they will receive what God has promised!

Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires;
God will satisfy them fully!

Happy are those who are merciful to others;
God will be merciful to them!

Happy are the pure in heart;
they will see God!

Happy are those who work for peace;
God will call them his children!

Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires;
the Kingdom of heaven belongs to them!

When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.

As soon as Jesus was baptized, he came up out of the water. Then heaven was opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God coming down like a dove and lighting on him.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.


O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen
